Anchor 2020 - Juna N Joey

In light of October being National Bullying Prevention Month, brother and sister turned singer/songwriter duo, Juna N Joey, have decided to use their anti-bullying anthem, “Anchor,” to help advocate for anti-bullying efforts. “Anchor” is a song focused on anti-bullying inspired by a school friend who battled with self-harm and suicidal thoughts as a result of bullying.

Juna N Joey hopes to rally their fans to not only recognize National Bullying Prevention Month, but to also show support for Unity Day on Oct. 21. Unity Day, initiated by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center (NBPC), is a day to wear and share orange to send a strong message of hope and support, to show that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying. Juna N Joey has partnered with PACER’S NBPC for a live stream event, to be held on Unity Day, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. ET. PACER’S NBPC focuses on preventing childhood bullying in schools, communities, and online. The organization supplies bullying prevention resources for educators and helps communities get involved. “Unity Day is a opportunity to make a powerful statement to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion,” said Julie Hertzog, director of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. “We are proud to team up with incredible young people like Juna N Joey, who are sharing such an important message about hope and support with their song ‘Anchor.’”

Building on their YouTube success, the West Palm Beach, Fla. natives had an exciting 2019. DreamWorks TV asked Juna N Joey to participate in the NETFLIX original, Spirit Riding Free, by offering their rendition of Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You” for the show. Additionally, the duo took their songwriting skills to Nashville, Tenn., where they co-wrote their first single, “Stay Young.” The single caught the attention of Release Radar on Spotify and Country Radio, earning them an offer to open for American Idol alum’s Cade Foehner on his Southern Hallelujah Tour before they could even begin promoting the song. As brother and sister turned singer/songwriters, Juna N Joey’s popularity first exploded when they began posting musical covers and originals on YouTube.
